Is Your Truck Compliant?

Each state has different requirements for covering loads during transport. Non-compliance can result in fines, citations, and liability. Make sure your fleet meets your state’s regulations.

Frequently Asked Questions

The right system depends on your truck class, bed length, and how frequently you tarp loads. Automatic tarp systems are ideal for high-volume operations where speed and safety matter most. Semi-automatic pull tarp systems work well for operators who want a reliable, lower-cost solution. For trucks without factory mounting points, our EZ-Fit universal kits provide a complete bolt-on option.

An automatic tarp system uses an electric motor connected to a roller tube mounted at the front of your truck bed. When activated by a switch inside the cab or a wireless remote, the motor spins the roller tube, which deploys or retracts the tarp across the full length of the bed. The entire process takes seconds and keeps the operator safely on the ground.

Most states require loads to be covered during transport, though specific regulations vary. Fines for unsecured loads can range from hundreds to thousands of dollars, and operators may face liability for road debris incidents. We maintain an up-to-date state regulations guide to help you stay compliant in every state where you operate.

Yes, many of our systems can be self-installed using the detailed installation guides and schematics we provide with every order. If you prefer professional installation, we have a network of over 500 authorized service centers across North America that can handle the job for you.

Choose vinyl tarps for general hauling like sand, gravel, and dirt — they provide complete waterproof coverage and last for years. Mesh tarps are the right choice for landscaping debris, recycling loads, and materials that need airflow. If you haul hot asphalt, you need our heat-resistant asphalt tarps rated for temperatures up to 350°F.

Our tarp system hardware, arms, pivots, roller tubes, and mounting brackets, carry a 1-year warranty. Actual tarps typically lasts two to five years depending on usage frequency, material hauled, and environmental conditions. When it’s time for a new tarp, we manufacture exact-fit replacement tarps for every system we sell.
